This Privacy Policy explains how OverlayMotion, operated by Ricardo Metring, handles personal data when you use the OverlayMotion website, contact us, or purchase a product.

1. Data we handle

Depending on how you use OverlayMotion, we may handle:

• Information you provide: name, email address, billing details, support messages, and information needed to deliver a purchase or license.
• Purchase information: product, transaction status, billing country, and license-delivery details. A payment provider processes payment-card data; OverlayMotion does not receive your complete card number.
• Basic technical information: IP address, browser type, requested pages, timestamps, and security logs that may be recorded by our hosting provider.
• Analytics and campaign attribution: visited pages, referring page, campaign parameters (such as UTM values), Google advertising click identifiers (gclid, gbraid, or wbraid), checkout starts, and a random first-party visit identifier used to connect a purchase to its originating visit. We do not place your email address in campaign-attribution logs.
• Local preview preferences: selected theme and aspect ratio stored in your browser's localStorage. These preferences stay in your browser unless you choose to share them with us.
• Local attribution record: campaign details and a random visit identifier stored in localStorage for up to 90 days so a later checkout can retain its original campaign attribution.

We use PostHog for product analytics when enabled in production. Google Ads may append click identifiers to landing-page URLs when an ad uses auto-tagging. The site does not currently install a Google advertising or remarketing tag.

2. Why we use data

We use personal data only as needed to:

• operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service;
• complete purchases and deliver licenses or downloads;
• respond to questions and support requests;
• prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized source-code distribution;
• understand campaign performance and connect ad visits to checkout and purchase outcomes;
• maintain business, tax, and transaction records; and
• comply with legal obligations.

Depending on the situation and applicable law, processing is based on performing a contract, complying with law, our legitimate interests in running and securing the Service, or your consent.

3. How data is shared

We do not sell personal data. We may share the minimum necessary data with:

• payment, hosting, email, storage, analytics, advertising, and customer-support providers;
• professional advisers who must keep it confidential;
• authorities when disclosure is legally required; or
• a successor if the OverlayMotion business is reorganized or sold.

Those providers may process data in other countries under their own privacy terms and applicable safeguards.

4. Retention

We retain purchase and license records while needed to provide access, verify a license, meet tax and accounting duties, resolve disputes, and prevent fraud. Support messages and technical logs are kept only as long as reasonably needed for those purposes. Campaign-attribution visit logs and local attribution records are kept for up to 90 days; purchase records may be retained longer for contract, accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal purposes. You can remove local preview preferences and attribution records at any time by clearing site data in your browser.

5. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please do not send passwords, full payment card numbers, or unnecessary sensitive information through support messages.

6. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may ask us to confirm whether we process your personal data and request access, correction, deletion, portability, or information about sharing. You may also withdraw consent or object to certain processing where those rights apply.

7. Children

OverlayMotion is a professional software product and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as the Service or legal requirements change. The current version and its effective date will remain available on this page.
